Grifton- William Taylor Hunt was born on March 16, 1940, to the late Ruskin Henderson Hunt and Mary Taylor Hunt. He peacefully passed away late in the evening on October 29, 2024. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Kay Hunt; daughter, Sherri Rose Roberson; and brother,

William was a farmer, landlord, and Kay’s caregiver for many years. He was an active member of his church, Sharon United Methodist, until his health declined. “Papa Hunt” loved his Little Bit, Prissy. They were two peas in a pod. Papa Hunt became an important part of our family even before he came to live with us a year ago. A quiet man, a peaceful man, a stubborn man, a loving man. We love you, Papa Hunt. We will miss you every day, but we will carry you with us in our hearts and lives.

Services to remember Papa Hunt’s life will be held privately.

Papa Hunt is survived by his daughter, Jessica Fern Hunt of Atlanta, and granddaughter, Bryanna Grace Roberson of Wilmington; daughter-in-heart, Jennifer Thomas (Scott); granddaughter-in-heart, Prissy; sister-in-heart, Barbara Edwards; caregiver, Maria Rappaport; and sister-in-heart and best friend, Evelyn Phillips.
